Areas west of Worcester could see the heaviest snow, with totals of up to two feet. Hour-by-hour futurecast: When will the snow leave the area. Snow begins to move into the area from the southwest overnight, reaching Boston during the morning commute. The heaviest snow will begin around 9 a.m. and persist until about 5 p.m. Combined with winds, this creates the potential for blizzard conditions. "In areas that are staying snow, 2-4 inch per hour snowfall rates are possible in that window," Storm Team 5 Chief Meteorologist Harvey Leonard said.
