Revenge Is A B
... roster career, Sasha is already a three-time titleholder. But she’s never been able to successfully defend the belt, losing it back to Charlotte Flair on pay-per-view (PPV) after winning it on Raw every time. And if that wasn’t psychologically demoralizing enough, each of the losses also took a physical toll on Banks as well - including a wounded knee she suffered in dropping the belt to Charlotte last month at Roadblock: End of the Line. Jax already had a chip on her shoulder after being left off television while Raw focused on Flair, Banks and their fellow Horsewoman, Bayley. Looking to make a name for herself, Nia sought to make an example of Sasha by attacked her the Monday after Roadblock. Those beating continued, sometimes in tag matches where Jax reluctantly tagged with Charlotte. And sometimes just by beating up women who made the mistake of being Sasha Banks fans. The Boss may be hobbled, but she’s still proud. Throughout this feud, she helped Bayley earn a shot at Flair’s title by providing a distraction during the Hugster’s #1 contender match against Nia, and this past Monday showed up to let Jax ...
Which Wwe Superstars Will Win
... plenty of worthy names: Sami Zayn would be huge for an underdog push. Undertaker, Goldberg and Lesnar may all be part-timers, but they would be spectacular to close the show. Personally, I’d love to see Kingston, propelling The New Day to the top of the card, where they are capable to handle after their two-year year at the top of the tag-team division. Who will win: The Undertaker. My fellow Denver Post pro-wrestling nerd Hugh Johnson made a good point on our podcast this week: The Undertaker needs a big match for Wrestle Mania, and that match could very well be against John Cena. And why not be against WWE champion Cena in the main event of the WWE’s biggest show of the year. ‘Hidden Figures’ shocks Screen Actors Guild Awards. January 29, 2017, 9:28 pm. The cast of “Hidden Figures” rocketed to the Screen Actors Guild top award at a fiery, protest-laden ceremony that was dominated by defiance over President Trump’s sweeping immigration ban. How Many Refs Does It Take To Call A Pre-show Tag Title Match
... last Spring and immediately shot to the top of the tag ranks. Unfortunately, whether they were making jokes or inflicting pain, with AJ Styles as The Club or just two good brothers being mean & making green, that’s as far as they’ve gotten. They thought they got over the hump a couple weeks back on Raw, but while Gallows & Anderson celebrated after referee Darrick Moore raised their hands for pinning Cesaro following their Magic Killer finish, the match’s original official, John Cone, came to from the Brogue Kick with which Sheamus hit him. Cone waived off Moore’s decision and disqualified the Irishman. and since there was no "no DQ" stipulation, the belts went back to the champs. Since the two teams have been trading wins in singles matches and exchanging words all over the place throughout the month of January, the plan now is to see if they can settle things once and for ...
Winner And Reaction For Wwe Royal Rumble 2017
... I put the B in Boss! See you at the #Royal Rumble @Nia Jax WWE. 1/24/2017, 4:26:42 AM. Although Banks had many battles with Charlotte in a back-and-forth program, Jax arguably stood as her biggest challenge to date. While Banks is a natural heel and played the role nearly to perfection in NXT, she has been utilized as a face for most of her run on the main roster. She has had mixed success from a character-development perspective, but facing Jax could help her immensely. The size difference between them automatically gives The Boss crowd sympathy, and the fact that Jax has been preying on Banks and her injury helps in terms of building an underdog aura. That made for a great dynamic at the Rumble, which is often lacking in undercard matches. Jax and Banks showed good chemistry, and the potential is there for a long-term feud. But Jax struck the first blow Sunday. She was still in search of her first big victory on the main roster entering the Royal Rumble, but now that Jax has a win over Banks on her ...
In The Court Of The Cruiserweight King
... and Swann joined WORLD-1 International, where they became a fairly regular tag team right up until Neville left for WWE. So they do, indeed, go way back. Behold, the King. But alas, their eventual reunion in WWE was not a happy one. After missing a good chunk of the year with an ankle injury and making a tepid return to TV, Neville disappeared again. When he came back in December, it was with a totally fresh attitude. Gone was the flippy lad who flipped for your approval, and in his place was a bitter brawler of a man who flipped solely because he was good at hurting his opponents with flips. Incensed that WWE would have the temerity to start a cruiserweight division without him and feeling betrayed by fans that only seemed to care when he was doing those aforementioned flips, he immediately targeted Rich Swann in order to take the WWE Cruiserweight Championship. Declaring himself the King of the Cruiserweights, Neville has carved himself a path of destruction, taking out TJ Perkins, Lince Dorado, Cedric Alexander and even, in a somewhat tangential appearance in the UK, Tommy End on his way ...
Wwe Royal Rumble Results And Reaction
... Sheamus and Cesaro for the titles. Naturally, the stipulation of two refs meant that one was going down hard. From there though, the Club was basically just able to overcome the odds by nailing Sheamus with the Magic Killer and then hooking some Cesaro tights for the pin. Not a stellar match by any means, but it's really cool to see Anderson and Gallows heading into Wrestle Mania season as RAW champs. Winners, and NEW Raw Tag Team Champions: Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson. Sasha Banks vs. Nia Jax. Nia just ran through Sasha Banks. I mean, Sasha got some offense but this was a big win for Jax and a curious demotion for Banks considering the fall program she had with Charlotte and the whole "Iron Sharpens Iron" premise to the Ironwoman Match she just had last month. Nothing Sasha did here had much impact and eventually she fell, rather quickly, to a Pop-Up Samoan Drop. Hmmm, maybe I'm sorta glad, in hindsight, that this one landed on the Kickoff Show. Winner: Nia Jax. RAW Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair vs. Bayley. You had to ask yourself going in, with her PPV win streak so much of the story here, would Charlotte suffer a loss at the ...
Neville Wins Cruiserweight Title From Rich Swann
... nearly recovered, but Neville threw him into the barricade several times to stop his momentum. In one of the biggest moments of the match, Neville went up top for a dive, but Swann nailed him in the face with a heel kick. He then hit a hurricanrana and a spectacular Phoenix Splash off the top, sending both men crashing to the floor. Back in the ring, Swann hit a roundhouse kick and a vicious clothesline, both of which got two-counts. Neville finally recovered enough to crotch Swann on the top rope. He then went to set up his superplex, a new finisher that put away many opponents before. Swann fought him off and threw a heel kick into the gut, but Neville came back with a superkick of his own. He went for a deadlift suplex, which Swann countered into another kick and nearfall. Neville only escaped the loss by grabbing the rope during the referee’s count. Swann went back up top, but Neville raced up there to meet him and hit the superplex, which Swann miraculously kicked out of. Neville then slapped on the Rings of Saturn submission hold, and Swann tapped out. The cruiserweight division has a new ...
An Early Elimination Chamber Preview
... three legitimate singles feuds in the division, all of which could conceivably make the card in Phoenix next month. Alternatively, Smack Down could run the first-ever women’s Elimination Chamber match. While this tag match should go some way to highlighting the division’s immediate future, it will likely not be until Tuesday that the direction for February 12 is made clear. The Road to Royal Rumble. Bliss survived her women’s championship cage match versus Lynch on January 17 thanks to La Luchadora—later revealed to be Mickie James. Rather than rest on her laurels, Little Miss Bliss decided to publicly mock the returning Naomi last week, insisting that she had no intentions of answering an open challenge—she just wanted to run Naomi down. It would be no surprise to see the pair get a significant amount of the match to build up their nascent feud. Could we see Naomi repeat her ...
