Comparing Eddie Lacy's And Marshawn Lynch's First 4 Seasons
Comparing Eddie Lacy's And Marshawn Lynch's First 4 Seasons

... is comparing early years.  Looking at their first four seasons, Lacy has more rushing yards, receiving yards, total touchdowns and a better per-carry average even though he played in six fewer games than Lynch. Lynch was tackled behind the line of scrimmage 104 times in that span. Lacy just 73. Overall, Lacy has been more productive in Green Bay than Lynch was in Buffalo. Now, this is all speculation. If given the choice, I take Lynch any day. Lacy can be an excellent runner, but let’s not ignore the biggest difference between them in their first four seasons … their quarterbacks. When playing the Packers, no defensive coordinator is losing sleep over Lacy. They’re having nightmares about what Aaron Rodgers can do. In Buffalo, Lynch mostly dealt with a combination of Ryan Fitzpatrick, Trent Edwards and even some J. P. Losman mixed in for funsies. Taking snaps with the best QB in the NFL is an entirely different game when dealing with the Bills’ signal callers. Look, this is all offseason nonsense, so take it with a grain of salt or whatever cliché you prefer. They’re both excellent ...

Two summers ago, on July 4, Pierre-Paul's right hand was severely damaged in a fireworks accident in Florida. He missed the first half of that season, but returned for the final eight games. He started all 12 games he played last year and has a strong finish as the Giants made the playoffs. The team gave Pierre-Paul the franchise tag last month for the second time in three years. Report: Raiders looking to acquire Marshawn Lynch. The Raiders are strongly considering luring retired star running back Marshawn Lynch out of retirement and back home to Oakland, ESPN reported Friday morning. Lynch, who is still under contract with the Seahawks, is said to be trying to decide if he wants to come back to the NFL. If he were to come back, there appears to be mutual interest between Lynch and the Raiders. Lynch retired after the 2015 season with 9,112 yards in 10 NFL seasons, but there is a chance “Beast Mode” could fill the ...

I'm Going To Do My Best Marshawn Lynch Impression For Seahawks
I'm Going To Do My Best Marshawn Lynch Impression For Seahawks

... who sported one of the league’s best rushing attacks when Lynch was in the backfield, had a nonexistent running game last season. According to Football Outsiders ’ metrics, Seattle ranked 23 rd in rushing. From 2012-15 - coinciding with Russell Wilson’s arrival and years after Lynch became a cornerstone of the offense - the running game never ranked worse than seventh (and twice finished first). “I’ve always favored Marshawn Lynch ’s running style, and that’s something Pete Carroll definitely likes,” Lacy said. “I’m going to come in and do my best impression of him and just bring my hard work and my hard running style to the table.”. And nothing would make coach Pete Carroll happier. “I like that we’re bringing in a big, tough guy who’s going to send a message with the way he plays the game,” he told 710 ESPN Seattle recently. “… We went ...

... is all about fun. He opened a retail clothing line with stores in Seattle and Oakland, California. He drove a golf cart through the Cal Bears’ pregame training. And he did Running Wild with Bear Grylls. Playing soccer isn’t the oddest thing Lynch will do this year. Who else should join MLS stars in raising money that will go towards area youth soccer scholarships ? Here are nine local legends on our list. Jay “Trucks, Trucks and More Trucks!” Buhner - now an ad man and occasional analyst, Bone earned his fame by hitting home runs, drawing walks and striking out, a lot. His cannon of an arm won’t translate to soccer, but that’s just fine. He can play keeper, since it’s likely that he already hunts, fishes and hangs out in treehouses with Marcus Hahnemann. Lauren “Lo Jack” Jackson - Australia’s best basketball player won titles with the Seattle Storm. Her post-up ability was unrivaled in the WNBA, primarily due to her footwork. If any pick-up game wanted a near perfect target ...

Eddie Lacy Could Have Marshawn Lynch-like Revival Of Career
Eddie Lacy Could Have Marshawn Lynch-like Revival Of Career

... can get to that desired playing weight by then, the Seahawks could be getting a player who was a top-10 running back in 2014 and still only 26. In 2014, Lacy had 1,566 yards from scrimmage with 13 touchdowns. Football Outsiders put him at eighth in DYAR and DVOA. Consider that in Lynch’s second season with the Bills, he was only 25 th in DYAR despite his 1,000-yard season, behind his teammate Jackson. Lynch was 29 th in DVOA and had a success rate of 46%. Lacy had a 48% success rate in 2014. Though his DYAR and DVOA went down during his slump season in 2015, Lacy’s success rate actually went up to 49%. Lynch had hit a lower low before arriving in Seattle than Lacy’s current low; and I’m using the term “low” for a player who did average 5.1 YPC last season. Since entering the NFL, Eddie Lacy has averaged 2.15 yards per rush after first contact, second to only ...

Russell Okung Believes Melvin Gordon Is A Young Marshawn Lynch

... he has is definitely similar.”. Beyond seeing a younger Beast Mode in the backfield, Okung mentioned Philip Rivers as another motivating factor. “Obviously you hear tons about Philip, and you see what type of ability he has.  I know what kind of player he is.  However I can come in and support whatever he is trying to do, I will do it.  I just want to establish us as a great group on the offensive line.  I’ll be honored to do that. Playing against them (last year), this is an extremely talented team.  They have a great group of core guys here, and I think it’s a team that’s really close.  I like what (Head Coach Anthony) Lynn is doing, how he speaks and what he’s asking of his players.  I knew this was something I wanted to be a part of.”. After facing the Chargers defense twice last season while with the Denver Broncos, he also knows firsthand how dangerous the team is on the other side of the ball.  Like most, he believes reigning NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year ...

Shaun Alexander Vs. Marshawn Lynch
Shaun Alexander Vs. Marshawn Lynch

... came down to it, in their prime, who was the better back. Seahawks cornerback De Shawn Shead welcomes son, Carson. Alexander was the back in the league for a bit. He totaled over 1,500 yards for five consecutive seasons. The last of those seasons, he ran for 1,880 yards, maintained a season average of 5.08 yards per carry and scored a whopping 27 rushing touchdowns. He was named MVP that season (2005) but the Hawks fell short of a Super Bowl win. Lynch had one more 1,000-yard seasons than Alexander, including two in Buffalo before he was traded to Seattle in 2010. While he might not have shined as brightly as Alexander did, Lynch was more consistent throughout his whole career. Lynch had three-straight seasons totaling more than 1,500 yards. Alexander was the prototypical Alabama running back. Downhill power runner. But he was also a great check down pass catcher for Matt Hasselbeck. Lynch had a unique combination of power and ...

Marshawn Lynch To Raiders 'could Really Happen
Marshawn Lynch To Raiders 'could Really Happen

... coach Pete Carroll on Thursday. NFL Network's Mike Garafolo, however, characterized the meeting as " more of a personal visit than anything.". The Seahawks still hold Lynch's rights, meaning he would revert to Seattle's roster if he filed the paperwork to come off the team's reserve/retired list. The Raiders would need to trade for the five-time Pro Bowler unless Seattle released him so he could play for his hometown team, but a league source told Schefter and Anderson, "It could really happen.". Lynch was due $9 million in 2016 and $10 million in 2017 prior to his retirement, which he announced with a tweet during Super Bowl 50. Lynch was the No. 12 overall pick by the Bills in 2007 NFL Draft before being traded to Seattle in October 2010 in exchange for two mid-round draft picks. Running with a trademark physical style, Lynch was one of the most productive running backs in Seahawks franchise ...
